On 10 July 2025, EU-LI-PHE successfully held its 3rd Management Committee meeting at KU Leuven, Belgium, bringing together national representatives and Working Group leaders from across Europe.

The meeting was opened by Prof. Luca Fontanesi, Chair of EU-LI-PHE, and included an update on the Action’s progress, membership statistics, and ongoing activities. Members reviewed key developments since the last MC meeting, approved minor leadership updates, and discussed coordination plans for the final quarter of Grant Period 2.

The MC3 meeting also served as a platform to:

  • Welcome newly appointed MC members from Bulgaria and Ireland;
  • Review upcoming deliverables, scientific and networking activities;
  • Encourage further involvement of young researchers and members from Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITCs);
  • Prepare for future meetings and conferences across Europe and beyond.

Updates were presented from each Working Group, including ongoing survey activities, upcoming publications, communication tools, and international collaborations. The session also included an overview of the 2nd EU-LI-PHE Training School, which followed the meeting at KU Leuven, and updates from the COST Association.

Looking ahead, several events are planned for late 2025, including National Hub meetings and participation in regional scientific gatherings. The next Management Committee meeting is anticipated for mid-2026, with potential locations under consideration.

We thank all members for their continued engagement and commitment to building a strong and inclusive European network in livestock phenomics.
