The EU-LI-PHE Network recently participated in the Plant and Animal Genome Conference (PAG 32), held from January 10 to 15, 2025, in San Diego, CA, USA.
Prof. Luca Fontanesi, Chair of EU-LI-PHE, was an invited speaker at the “Genome Biodesign in Plants and Animals” workshop. His presentation provided an overview of EU-LI-PHE’s objectives and ongoing initiatives, emphasizing the project’s commitment to advancing livestock phenotyping across Europe. The workshop, organized by Zhihua Jiang and Xiaohan Yang, attracted over 100 attendees, including researchers, industry professionals, and academics, fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas and collaborative opportunities.
EU-LI-PHE’s participation in PAG 32 emphasizes our dedication to integrating cutting-edge phenotyping technologies into livestock research. By engaging with the global scientific community at such a prestigious event, the project aims to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of phenotypic data collection and analysis, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of livestock production systems.
The conference also provided a platform for EU-LI-PHE to network with other initiatives and stakeholders in the field, facilitating the sharing of knowledge and best practices. Such interactions are vital for the project’s mission to create a cohesive and collaborative European network focused on livestock phenomics.
