EU-LI-PHE proudly participated in the World Rabbit Congress (WRC), held from October 2nd to 4th, 2024, in Tarragona, Spain. Dr. Cristina Casto Rebollo presented the COST Action’s innovative approach to phenotyping in rabbits. The event gathered experts in animal breeding and genetics, providing an excellent platform for sharing knowledge and advancing the field.

Dr. Casto Rebollo’s presentation highlighted how EU-LI-PHE can serve as a model for phenotyping in rabbit breeding. She stated, “The presentation of the EU-LI-PHE project at the WRC attracted a lot of interest from experts in animal breeding and genetics. The project’s focus on the challenges of data sharing offers a promising solution to improve collaboration and advance key areas such as phenotyping technologies, sustainability, and ethical practices in rabbit breeding.”

In addition to Dr. Casto Rebollo, Prof. Tomas Norton, the EU-LI-PHE Vice Chair, attended the congress, further reinforcing the network’s commitment to advancing knowledge and practices in animal genetics.

The engagement at the WRC exemplifies EU-LI-PHE’s dedication to promoting innovative solutions and fostering collaboration among stakeholders in the field of livestock breeding.
