Paula Aranguren-Rivas from INIA-CSIC, Spain, a member of EU-LI-PHE Working Groups 2 and 3, spent two weeks at the University of Bologna in the research group of Prof. Luca Fontanesi, where she received hands-on training in the interpretation of metabolomics data generated within the Re-Livestock project.
During this STSM, Paula learned to pre-process and filter metabolomics datasets prior to imputation, apply a custom data imputation pipeline developed by the host group, and conduct differential analyses to identify biologically relevant metabolites. This experience, supported by EU-LI-PHE, enabled Paula to bring back a robust analytical workflow to her home institution, strengthening the collaboration between the two groups and boosting the progress of their ongoing research.
“This was an extremely enriching experience, both professionally and personally. I’ve gained valuable skills and enjoyed the opportunity to work with experts in such a vibrant and inspiring environment”, said Paula about this STSM.
We thank Paula for her contribution and look forward to future joint activities!
