The EU-LI-PHE initiative proudly showcased its foundational pillars at the prestigious BSAS – British Society of Animal Science Annual Congress held in Galway, Ireland. This international platform offered an excellent opportunity to engage with the wider animal science community and highlight the strategic direction of our COST Action.
The following messages were sent from EU-LI-PHE representatives, Prof. Luca Fontanesi and Geena Cartick:
- Phenomics as the central dogma in animal science: EU-LI-PHE emphasized phenomics as a transformative approach in modern animal science, fostering collaboration and innovation across research disciplines.
- Development of national and regional hubs: The Action underlined the potential of regional and national hubs to expand phenomics capacity and enhance cross-border research opportunities, creating a more connected scientific ecosystem.
- Fostering Young Researchers and Innovators (YRI): A strong focus was placed on supporting young scientists as essential drivers for sustainable development and long-term impact in the animal science sector.
EU-LI-PHE CA22112 also announced the proposal of a Regional Hub that would include both the British and Irish animal science communities, aiming to stimulate regional collaboration and knowledge exchange.
