As part of its commitment to supporting early-career researchers and strengthening collaboration within the livestock phenomics community, EU-LI-PHE supported the participation of Laura Laorden Carrazón from the Instituto Nacional de Investigación y Tecnología Agraria y Alimentaria (INIA-CSIC) in regional networking events through a Young Researcher and Innovator Conference Grant.
The activity took place on 11–12 June 2026 in Orihuela, Alicante, Spain, bringing together researchers working in the fields of livestock phenomics, genomics and related disciplines. During the two-day event, Laura participated in scientific sessions focused on current advances in livestock phenomics and genomics and presented her own research during a dedicated Lightning Talk session.

The event provided an excellent opportunity for knowledge exchange and networking, allowing participants to connect with researchers from different institutions across Spain, particularly from Madrid and Valencia. Through discussions following presentations and informal scientific exchanges, Laura was able to explore new perspectives, learn about complementary research approaches and identify potential opportunities for future collaborations and internships.
Beyond scientific discussions, the event also encouraged community building through social and cultural activities, creating an environment for participants to establish stronger professional connections.
“EU-LI-PHE’s support is extremely valuable for young researchers, as it enables us to participate in scientific events where we can present our work, connect with experts and discover new research opportunities,” Laura highlighted.
Through initiatives such as Young Researcher and Innovator Grants, EU-LI-PHE continues to promote career development, mobility and international networking opportunities for the next generation of researchers contributing to the advancement of livestock phenomics.
