CA22112 European Network on Livestock Phenomics (EU-LI-PHE) participated in the Measuring Behavior Conferences, that was held in Aberdeen, Scotland on May 17th.

During the Conference, Dr. Michael Toscano, Working Group 3 Leader and researcher at the University of Bern, organized the Symposium on Optimizing Analysis of Longitudinal, High-Resolution Behavioral Data, that was co-sponsored by EU-LI-PHE. Prof. Luca Fontanesi and Dr. Toscano delivered talks on usage and importance of Big Data in livestock phenomics and presented the EU-LI-PHE efforts in achieving the goal of better and more consistent phenotype measurement and genotype-phenotype association guideline development. The Symposium was an excellent platform for advanced discussions on sensor technology for monitoring animal behavior.

We look forward to expanding our network of collaborators and stakeholders to highlight the importance of complex genetics and phenomics in livestock species.
